Whoa! That's a lot of Shmi! In this episode, Becca and Devon sit-down to discuss the Women in the galaxy far, far away. Women, in Star Wars, are like bookends. In other words, they support those around them, keeping the other characters upright and on the right path. One example of this analogy is Anakin Skywalker. Shmi is a bookend to keeping the chosen one inline and Padme' is the other pillar that keeps him in check. So, one might say, the women in his life were the bookends to his self-consciousness. That said, you strap yourselves in for this extra extra episode of Kanata's Castle!

Women in the Galaxy far, far away are such an integral part of the Star Wars saga. So, to honor them and their roles in the Star Wars universe, Becca and Devon are ready to pay tribute by discussing as many women characters as they can, starting with Shmi Skywalker. As they work their way through the saga, they will be looking at character arcs and support systems by the women in the galaxy far, far away. In essence, highlighting the importance of bookend roles and how that characteristic enhances other characters and the storyline as well.

Kanata's Castle is back with Rey's Reflections. In this episode, Becca and Devon take a closer look at Rey and how her character mirrors and parallels those that have come before her. When all is said and done, what is Rey's role in the story? Well, be sure to sidle up to the bar and get comfy. That said, hang on to your drinks and enjoy the acquired taste that is, Kanata's Castle.

A mirror reflects light. It reflects an image. A mirror produces an accurate representation of something else. A replica. Rey’s Reflections, in other words, Rey is a reminder of those that have come before: Han, Luke, Leia, and possibly, deeper down the line. She's a Reality Check for the Big 3, without her none of them would be able to connect again (not literally, but figuratively speaking) and come full-circle in their story.

Ever ask yourself, "is Kylo Ren worthy of redemption?" Ahem, better yet, RENdemption? Well, in this episode of Kanata's Castle, Becca, and Devon get back into the heavy as they discuss whether or not young Solo is redeemable. So, come on! Grab a frothy mug of Luke's favorite green-milk and hit that play button.

Redemption is a continuous theme in Star Wars. But, is that trope getting old? Is it time for something new? After all, the Star Wars stories have evolved with the sequel trilogy, so maybe Kylo Ren is right? It's time to let old things die. Kill the past. To redeem or not to redeem, that is the question.

Ok, kids, it's no secret that Star Wars is full of Daddy issues and it seems to be a continuous pattern or theme throughout the saga. Becca and Devon are back in the Castle! This time, your hosts are going to tackle that burning question that every Star Wars fan is yearning to know: Were Han and Leia "Bad Parents?"
Yup, they dive-in and discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of parenthood. So, probably a good idea to find a Jedi Knight and borrow their 'breather.' Kanata's Castle is about to go deep!

Every situation is different. Every family dynamic is different. In turn, every family is different, yes, but yet we are the same. Parents. Parenting. Parenthood. None of it is easy. It doesn't matter what color your skin is. It doesn't matter what your orientation is. As parents, we all go through the trials and tribulations of raising our younglings as best as we can.

Kanata's Castle is "doing talking" with Vanessa Marshall, the voice of Hera Syndulla from Star Wars Rebels! Today, Devon and Becca have opened up the castle gates and did a little housecleaning. After all, it's not every day a war hero stops by to visit Maz's Castle. Not just any hero either. We're talking an expert pilot, an expert in combat, and an expert markswoman too. Captain of the Ghost and a general from the Galactic Civil War. Captain Hera Syndulla!

In this episode, Becca, and Devon welcome special guest Vanessa Marshall to the castle. The hosts find themselves in Rose's situation, "doing talking" with "The Hera." Yeah, it's a bit surreal, but Maz's hosts fly casual and talk their way through it just like Han. Yes, they do! Every time!
